    Our goal is to create a wonderful memory for children, adults, and seniors who participate and view our parade. This tradition began many years ago and continues to be a community favorite.

    IMPORTANT!

    PARADE ROUTE: The Parade will depart from Truist Bank (on Main Street) traveling 1.2 miles of Main St. (S.R 14/U.S.29) from Lee St to Vesta Ave. The starting point will be 3872 College St, College Park, Ga 30337. Special Awards will be presented near City Hall!

    PARADE LINE UP: Each group or participant must have a leader at the parade site by 8:30 a.m. to assist your group. Please assemble between 8:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Early arrival is requested to ensure safety and proper group line up. Please check in with your assigned Section Leader, upon arrival.

    SECTION A – Please enter at Truist Bank (3857 Main Street)

    SECTIONS B & C – Please enter John Wesley Ave (Proceed to College Park Regional Health Center- 1920 John Wesley Ave.

    You must be on site by 8:30 a.m. to participate. The parade will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. and end at 11:30 a.m.

    PERFORMANCES:Performing groups will have the opportunity to perform in front of the judges at the judging grandstand, located in front of City Hall. You will also see media cameras and the parade MC in this area. Please continue marching as you perform, smile for the cameras, and be prepared to walk into the designated area for video coverage if needed.

    Performances should last approximately 30–45 seconds. High energy is encouraged, and groups should be prepared to continue moving along the parade route. Please note that you may be redirected if your performance exceeds the allotted time.

    Inclement Weather: In the event of inclement weather, the parade will be canceled.

Rules

To ensure a safe, enjoyable, and well-organized parade, all participants are asked to follow these rules and recommendations. Our goal is to provide a safe, family-friendly, and well-coordinated event that offers an enjoyable and memorable experience for all participants and spectators.

1.Arrival & Leadership

o Each group must have a designated Parade Liaison on site by 8:00 a.m..

o Please make note of your assigned entry number when checking in. Once the official lineup is shared, we kindly ask that all participants remain in their assigned positions to ensure a smooth and enjoyable parade experience for everyone.

o Punctual arrival is vital to maintaining the safety, flow, and success of the parade.

o Groups may not always march next to a specific band. Please be mindful of spacing and bring your own music or sound.

2.Parking, Drop-Off, & Transportation

o Use designated parking areas only for drop-offs. Do not block parade routes or staging lanes.

o The City of College Park does not provide transportation for parade participants. Groups are responsible for providing their own vehicle or float.

3.Candy & Item Distribution

o When distributing candy, trinkets, or other items, please do so gently and always keep an eye on children and other spectators. Flyers and advertising materials should also be handed out safely.

oAll distribution should be done in a family-friendly and courteous manner.

4.Performance, Sound, & Music

o All performances must be moving performances; do not stop along the route.

o Each section should bring a variety of sounds and prepare to use your own music equipment if needed; the City does not provide sound systems.

o Music must be family-friendly, with no profanity or suggestive content.

5.Hydration

o Please bring water for your group.

o Hydration stations will be available along the parade route for participants.

6.Awards & Recognition

o Awards will be presented near College Park City Hall following the parade.

o Supporters are encouraged to gather in the designated areas for announcements.

7.Respect & Safety

o Keep children and participants supervised at all times.

o Follow directions from Section Leaders and parade staff promptly.

o Maintain a safe, friendly, and family-oriented environment throughout the parade.

Specialty Awards 2025

The Specialty Awards recognize outstanding parade participants who demonstrate excellence, creativity, and holiday spirit in specific categories. Each award recipient will receive a trophy and have the opportunity for a photo at the judging grandstand, highlighting their achievement and contribution to the parade.

These awards are determined by the parade judges based on performance, presentation, creativity, and overall impact. They are designed to celebrate a wide range of talents and participation, from youth groups and dance ensembles to floats, community organizations, and individual entries. The awards are not just accolades - they are a celebration of the passion and hard work that define our parade tradition.

1. Mayor’s Cup for Excellence

Awarded to the entry receiving the highest overall score for creativity, holiday spirit, and commitment to supporting City of College Park events. Recipient will receive a prestigious large cup trophy.

2. Community Spirit & Contribution Award

Celebrating exemplary teamwork and dedication to community engagement and parade participation.

3. Excellence in Dance Performance

Honoring artistry, precision, and choreography that captivate and inspire audiences.

4. Recreation & Cultural Arts Award

Highlighting creativity that celebrates the City’s dedication to arts, culture, and recreation.

5. Spirit & Cheer Award

Celebrating a cheer, church, or community group whose enthusiasm, unity, and energy embody the joy and togetherness of the holiday season.

6. Spirit of Youth Award

Recognizing the youth group that embodies joy, creativity, and community pride—bringing youthful energy and excitement to the parade.

7. Showmanship Distinction Award

Recognizing outstanding entertainment, creativity, and presentation throughout the parade.

8. “OH! What Fun” Award

Recognizing the entry that best captures the parade’s theme through festive design, energy, and overall presentation.

1st Place Float –Creative Excellence

Honoring the float that demonstrates exceptional craftsmanship and holiday presentation.

2nd Place Float – Artistic Merit

Recognizing creativity and design that bring the holiday spirit to life.

Judging will begin at 8:30 am upon arrival.
